Tardigrade Alien : Life in Glass Paste
Imagine a world where life is not based on carbon, but on silica - the very material that glass is made of. Inspired by this idea, I created my first sculpture in pâte de verre, a medium that allowed me to capture the fragile and ethereal quality of silica-based creatures.
Drawing from the form of water bears, also known as tardigrades, I imagined a tiny, otherworldly creature that could exist in a universe beyond our own. The result is a delicate and fascinating sculpture that evokes both wonder and mystery.
Through the process of pâte de verre, I was able to bring this creature to life, using finely crushed glass powders to create intricate details and textures. The final piece is a testament to the beauty and strangeness of the natural world, and a glimpse into the possibilities of life beyond our own planet.
The Tulpa Pyramids : A Pathway to Higher Consciousness
Step into a world of serenity and magic with these enchanted glass pyramids. Inspired by my passion for Buddhist culture and Alexandra David-Neel's transcendent experiences, these pyramids are meditation tools designed to help you reach new levels of consciousness.
Within each pyramid lies a mystical liquid, designed to amplify your state of relaxation and facilitate the manifestation of a tulpa, an ethereal being gifted with consciousness that can come to life through meditation.
On each face of the pyramid, you will find a representation of the four elements of nature, as well as specific symbols to help invoke your tulpa according to your deepest intentions. The fifth element, which symbolizes the fusion of the four primary elements, is represented at the base of the pyramid, along with the distinctive sign of the tulpa.
By using this glass pyramid as your guide, you can elevate your mind and reach new heights of consciousness. Let the magic surround and guide you on your journey of self-exploration and the exploration of the universe.
Memento Mori : The Beauty of Death Embodied in a Divine Crystal Skull
Memento Mori: The Skull of God" is a unique glass piece that reflects the beauty of death. To sculpt it, I dedicated five long and intense weeks, during which I delved deep into my soul to extract the very essence of art and spirituality.
By carving this crystal skull, I wanted to assert that its true home is in fact our own skull, in our mind, rather than in the church often referred to as the house of God. This piece is more than just a work of art, it is a meditation object that reminds us that death is part of life, and that we must learn to accept and appreciate it.
In creating this piece, I aimed to reposition the divine, to reaffirm what is sacred. One may think of the famous quote "my body is a temple", but personally, I am more of the mindset "my body is an amusement park". The vanitas, these objects that remind us of the brevity of life and the importance of enjoying every moment, deliver a powerful message : in the end, we all die, nothing remains of our material possessions, titles, or accomplishments. Only what we have given, loved, and created remains.
This crystal skull, with its reliefs inspired by the Gothic architecture of cathedrals, is an ode to life and death. It is a piece that inspires reflection, contemplation, and gratitude for the miracle of existence. There is nothing more beautiful than contemplating death, smiling at it, and dancing with it. Memento Mor i: The Skull of God reminds us that death is not an end in itself, but a gateway to infinity.
